Dimethyl ether (DME) is considered an alternative hydrogen carrier with potential use in fuel cells and automotive domestic applications. hydrolysis to methanol a thermodynamically limited reaction catalyzed by solid-acid catalysts, mainly Al2O3 zeolites.
